Owner and Cake Designer Carla Wells has been baking and decorating cakes for the last six years. Although she started out simply making cakes and cookies for her children and friends, since opening Heavenly Cakes & Confections in 2005, she has become a much sought after cake designer and mentor to other bakers.

Her recent appearance on WKYT’’s Afternoon show came as a result of her reputation as an award-winning designer of quality cakes and cookies. Her cake studio was recognized in 2006 by the Commonwealth Journal as being one of the best places to find decorated cakes in the Somerset/Pulaski County area.

Using only the finest ingredients and spending countless hours developing the perfect recipes is what makes Carla’s cakes and cookies truly a treat for the taste buds. And her ability to think outside the box and stretch her imagination assists her in delighting each of her clients with a unique, personalized work of art. Because she wants only the best for her clients, she will spend hours researching, sketching the perfect design and practicing her skills.
